Apocalypse Beginning: I’M Pregnant With The Blackened Male Lead’S Child

Chapter 52: First Battle with Zombies

"Quick! Pack up and let's go!"

Xiao Han lowered his voice, his tone anxious.

"Those idiots outside attracted all the zombies nearby!"

"And there's quite a lot of them!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than the characteristic 'ho-ho' growls of zombies echoed from outside.

There were also messy footsteps, getting closer and closer, making one's scalp tingle just by listening.

A Mo didn't say a word and charged forward with a single stride.

He bent down, exerted his arms, and was about to carry Lu Shiyan on his back.

Lu Shiyan's brows were tightly furrowed; though weak, his mind was clear.

"I can manage myself..."

A Mo didn't listen at all, directly scooped Lu Shiyan up in his arms, and rushed out.

Su Wan followed closely behind.

As soon as they reached the staircase, they saw three figures scrambling and tumbling from the direction of the village entrance.

Their disheveled appearance was something else!

Behind them, a dense, dark mass of surging zombies filled the area!

"Holy crap! These imbeciles!"

Xiao Han cursed under his breath, already having rushed downstairs a step ahead.

He yanked open the door of the SUV.

"Get in the car, quick!"

A Mo had to exert some effort to squeeze Lu Shiyan into the back seat.

The three survivors' eyes lit up when they saw the car.

They didn't care about anything else and desperately tried to squeeze into the car.

One of the men even reached out to pull the driver's seat door!

"Get out of the way!" Xiao Han's face turned green as he roared at them.

"There's no room for you in the car!"

Seeing the black tide of zombies about to engulf them like water.

He grabbed Su Wan's arm and pushed her hard into the car.

"You go first! Hurry!"

Su Wan's gaze quickly swept over Xiao Han's shoulder.

His bandage on his shoulder was starting to seep blood again.

She glanced at A Mo's arm again; there were several fresh, bloody scratches.

Should she go in and leave them to resist below?

Her eyes instantly sharpened.

"I'm not going in!"

Su Wan suddenly shook off Xiao Han's hand.

"Are you crazy, Su Wan!"

Xiao Han roared in anger, barely believing his ears; had this usually gentle and weak woman eaten the guts of a bear and a leopard?

"I'm not crazy, we have guns."

She flipped her wrist, and several gleaming automatic rifles appeared out of thin air, along with a pile of heavy magazines!

Xiao Han and A Mo exchanged glances, a hint of understanding flashing in their eyes; they were so anxious they had forgotten about this guy.

"Xiao Han, A Mo, catch!"

"Let's finish this quickly! Leave two for me to practice on!"

Before Xiao Han could speak again, Su Wan had already thrust the guns and magazines into their hands.

Xiao Han and A Mo stopped wasting words, took the guns, and released the safety, their movements swift and decisive.

"Da da da da—!"

Flames erupted, and a dense volley of bullets instantly tore through the air, accurately striking the zombies charging at the front!

The three survivors were stunned, then quickly reacted, trembling as they pulled out their handguns from their clothes and began firing wildly.

Gunshots rang out, and zombies fell like dumplings.

Xiao Han and A Mo were extremely accurate with their shots, almost never missing, each shot a headshot.

In a flash, most of the zombies were cleared out.

Only the last two remained, staggering and lunging towards Su Wan.

Su Wan took a deep breath, her chest heaving violently.

The automatic rifle disappeared, replaced by a gleaming Tang Dao, held tightly in her hand.

Facing the roaring zombies that lunged at her, she mimicked A Mo's earlier move, suddenly turning sideways, narrowly dodging the zombie's attack.

Then, she gathered all her strength and thrust the blade with all her might into the zombie's neck!

"Pfft!"

The sound of the blade piercing flesh was clearly audible!

The zombie's movement suddenly stiffened.

Su Wan didn't stop; she gritted her teeth and violently twisted the hilt of the blade!

"Crack!"

The zombie's head twisted unnaturally to the side, then it fell to the ground with a "thud" and stopped moving.

There's one more!

"Decapitate!"

A Mo's steady voice rang in her ear, simultaneously firing a precise shot that severed the other zombie's arm reaching for Su Wan.

He didn't directly eliminate that zombie but left the opportunity for Su Wan.

"Or stab the brow! That's the weak point!"

Su Wan took another deep breath, and this time, she didn't dare to slash wildly.

She stared at the zombie's brow and, with all her might, brought the blade down!

Her strength had truly become immense.

"Swish!"

The blade successfully split the zombie's head, sending foul blood splattering.

Inside the car.

Xiao Han stared intently at the rearview mirror, his throat somewhat dry.

"What... what do you think now?"

Lu Shiyan didn't answer.

The night was too dark; he could only vaguely see her slender figure, somewhat clumsy yet fiercely wielding the blade against the last two zombies.

Especially the way she took out the guns and calmly gave orders, it shook him to the core.

That desperate ferocity, however, was clearly visible.

The familiar dull ache in his chest resurfaced, mixed with an indescribable, strange emotion.

She seemed... truly different now.

Where was the Su Wan who used to tremble at the sight of blood?

Su Wan fought with increasing ferocity, or rather, she became more and more numb as she fought.

The Tang Dao in her hand still felt a bit awkward, but she was no longer wildly slashing without method.

She began to rely on a fierce determination and A Mo's loud reminders from the side, desperately seeking the zombies' vital points.

Each swing of the blade almost exhausted all her current strength.

Sweat mixed with the foul blood splattered on her face, constantly streaming down her forehead, blurring her vision.

But she had only one thought in her mind—kill them!

Kill them all!

The air was thick with an inescapable smell of blood and decay.

Finally, the last zombie fell.

Su Wan panted heavily.

Sweat soaked her clothes, clinging damply to her body, outlining her slender curves.

She had done it.

She had even personally killed many zombies!

A Mo stood beside her, expressionlessly wiping the black bloodstains from his short blade with a tattered cloth, his rifle slung over his back.

The two men and the woman, after the last few zombies fell, rushed like madmen towards the zombie corpses.

They pulled out daggers they didn't know where they got them from, roughly cut open the zombies' heads, and rummaged inside for something.

"Crystal core! I found one!"

A tall, thin man shouted in surprise, pulling out a dark blue crystal from a zombie's rotten head and proudly shaking it in his hand.

"I have one here too!"

Another slightly plump man also shouted excitedly, digging out a crystal.

"You guys slow down! Don't damage the crystal cores! Those things are precious!"

The woman urged in a shrill voice, while also eagerly joining the scavenging.

For a moment, only the disgusting sounds of them rummaging through corpses remained in the field, along with their barely suppressed excited whispers.

Su Wan watched this chaotic scene, her brows furrowing deeply.

Most of these zombies were dealt with by her gun and the accurate shooting of Xiao Han and A Mo, and the last two were killed by her in a desperate practice!

These three people hadn't contributed much from beginning to end, only making a fuss and firing a few random shots.

Now, they were the quickest to snatch the spoils!

Their behavior was uglier than the zombies'!

"Hey!"

The three people paused their movements and looked up at her in unison.

"Most of these zombies were killed by us."

Su Wan's voice was icy.

"So what?" The tall, thin man sneered, deliberately weighing the shiny crystal core in his hand.

He looked at Su Wan with an expression as if she were an idiot.

"Whoever digs it out gets it. It's the apocalypse, and you're still talking about that?"

"Exactly!" The slightly plump man immediately chimed in, proudly patting his bulging pocket.

"Didn't we also take action? It's your own fault for being slow, who's to blame?"
