Apocalypse Beginning: I’M Pregnant With The Blackened Male Lead’S Child

Chapter 112: Tentacles from underground

Facing the scorching fire whip, Lu Shiyan stood his ground, and the lightning in his left hand suddenly intensified.

At the same time, flames condensed in his right hand, forming a burning long blade that, without any flourish, went straight for Black Wolf's chest.

"Boom!"

The clash of lightning and fire was deafening. The fire whip touched the electric net and was instantly shredded by the violent current, sending sparks flying.

Black Wolf felt a piercing numbness spread up his arm, his offensive immediately stalled, and the current seemed to want to bore into his internal organs.

He staggered back two steps, and for the first time, there was clear fear in his eyes as he looked at Lu Shiyan.

How could this guy be so strong?!

Lu Shiyan, having landed a blow, did not give the opponent a chance to breathe. His figure closed in again, the temperature of the flaming long blade seemingly increasing by a few degrees, carrying an aura that threatened to incinerate everything as it stabbed at Black Wolf once more.

"Damn it, I'll fight you to the death!" Black Wolf was pushed to a desperate situation, his face revealing his ferocity.

He inhaled sharply, and the originally orange-red flames around him rapidly deepened in color, turning into an ominous dark red. Heat waves rolled, and even the surrounding air seemed to ignite, beginning to distort.

"Die!" Black Wolf suddenly pushed his palms forward, and a basketball-sized, dark-red fireball, compressed to the extreme, screamed as it shot towards Lu Shiyan like a cannonball.

Lu Shiyan's pupils constricted slightly, and instead of retreating, he advanced, only to sharply turn to his left at an incredible angle the moment the fireball reached him.

The light green wooden armor on his body shimmered, deflecting some of the incoming heat waves.

The fireball almost grazed his clothes as it flew past, heavily striking the shelves behind him.

"Boom!"

Another earth-shattering roar, and the steel shelves were twisted and deformed, the supplies on them instantly bursting into raging flames.

"Your opponent is here!" Li Kui's roar came from not far away. He had just been desperately entangled by three or four thugs armed with steel pipes and machetes, and now he finally chopped down the last one with an axe.

Seeing the fierce battle between Lu Shiyan and Black Wolf, he immediately swung his fire axe and rushed over, splitting an axe directly at a Black Wind Stronghold member who was attempting to ambush Lu Shiyan from the side with a dagger.

The man only managed to let out a short, sharp scream before his shoulder blade was shattered by the fire axe, and he fell to the ground like mud.

Lu Shiyan seemed to have eyes in the back of his head and was not distracted by Li Kui's support.

The moment he dodged the deadly fireball, he had already adjusted his posture. The flaming long blade in his right hand had dissipated at some point, replaced by several fine electric snakes, slithering on his arm, emitting a soft "hissing" sound.

"Go!" Lu Shiyan shook his arm, and the electric snakes, as if alive, moved at extreme speed, instantly coiling around Black Wolf's hands and feet.

"Uh ah!" Black Wolf's whole body stiffened abruptly. The intense numbness and needle-like pain caused a temporary stagnation in his fire ability, and his body was completely out of control.

Now!

Lu Shiyan's figure instantly appeared in front of Black Wolf. His right hand pointed like a sword, and a faint light green glow flickered at his fingertip, condensing into a short but sharp wooden thorn, aimed directly at Black Wolf's glabella.

This strike was swift, precise, and ruthless.

Black Wolf's eyes widened, and the chill of death poured down from the top of his head.

He wanted to dodge, to resist, but the numbness in his body slowed all his movements by more than a beat.

"Puff!"

A faint, muffled sound of flesh being pierced.

The ferocity and madness on Black Wolf's face instantly froze, his eyes filled with disbelief, and then, all vitality rapidly receded like a tide.

The violent flames on his body seemed to have their source cut off, flickering a few times before completely extinguishing.

"Hoo... hoo..." Black Wolf's throat emitted a few meaningless wheezing sounds, his body swayed, and he fell straight backward, hitting the ground with a "thud," stirring up a cloud of dust.

Lu Shiyan slowly withdrew his hand, his gaze sweeping over the terrified Black Wind Stronghold thugs in the warehouse, his voice as cold as ice shards: "Those who don't want to die, put down your weapons and get to the corner!"

Those thugs dared not resist, throwing down their weapons one after another and scrambling to cower in the corner.

Lu Shiyan then turned towards the direction of the explosion, "Su Wan!"

He strode through the messy warehouse, searching, his brows tightly furrowed.

...

On the other side, Su Wan emerged from the spatial dimension in a disheveled state, immediately coughing repeatedly from the choking smell of gunpowder.

The shockwave of the explosion still seemed to echo in her ears, and rubble and dust continued to fall.

Her gaze immediately fell on Jin Dongdong not far away.

Jin Dongdong lay there, motionless.

Su Wan's heart skipped a beat, and she rushed over in a few steps.

Just now in the spatial dimension, through her vague perception of the outside world, she seemed to have "seen" that at the moment the explosives flew over, a hint of determination flashed across Jin Dongdong's face, which had been contorted with fear.

He didn't turn and run as she expected, but instead let out an incomprehensible roar, pushing his arms forward sharply.

A thin, almost invisible layer of ice formed in front of him. That ice shield was ridiculously fragile, probably unable to block even a gust of wind, let alone homemade explosives. It probably didn't even last 0.1 seconds before shattering into ice shards.

But it was this act, like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, that gently touched something within Su Wan.

She knelt down, her fingers trembling as she reached for Jin Dongdong's nostrils. There was still breath, but it was so faint it was almost imperceptible.

His temple had been cut open by flying pebbles, blood mixed with dust smeared on his face, and his complexion was as pale as paper. He had clearly overused his ability and been affected by the explosion, causing him to completely pass out.

"Hey, wake up! Jin Dongdong!" Su Wan patted his face.

This kid... usually seemed less brave than a rabbit, but just now he actually...

For a moment, she didn't know how to describe it. Should she call him foolish, or should she... say he had some backbone?

Su Wan pursed her lips, took a small bottle of drinking water from her spatial dimension, dipped her fingertip in it, and carefully wiped away the blood and dust from his temple.

His eyelashes trembled slightly, but there was still no sign of him waking up.

"Alright, I guess you... have some responsibility," Su Wan muttered softly.

At a time like this, being able to instinctively protect others was quite rare, especially for a half-grown child like him.

She quickly checked his arms and legs; there seemed to be no serious injuries like fractures, which made her slightly relieved.

She had to get him out of here quickly. She didn't know how Lu Shiyan and the others were doing.

Just as Su Wan took a deep breath, preparing to carry Jin Dongdong on her back and find a relatively safe place to hide, the ground beneath her feet began to shake violently without warning!

"Huh?" Su Wan stumbled, almost falling.

The metal detector on her wrist, which had been silent, suddenly emitted an extremely piercing shriek. The baseline on the screen jumped and flickered wildly, and then with a "zzzzzt," it exploded into static!

"What's going on?!"

"Rumble—"

A muffled and enormous sound came from not far away, and a large section of the ground collapsed, revealing a bottomless, dark giant pit!

A strong, nauseating stench, as if tangible, spewed out from the giant pit, rapidly spreading.

Immediately after, under Su Wan's uncertain gaze, a huge tentacle, covered in dark green mucus and as thick as a bucket, suddenly emerged from the giant pit!

The surface of the tentacle was covered with wriggling suction cups, and its edges had rings of tooth-like keratinous growths, like the materialization of the most terrifying nightmare. It came with a 腥風, sweeping like lightning towards Su Wan and the unconscious Jin Dongdong!

"Holy crap!" Su Wan's scalp tingled, and without thinking further, she forcefully pushed Jin Dongdong, while she herself tumbled and dodged awkwardly to the other side.

The dark green tentacle missed its target, its disgusting suction cups at the front slamming into the ground, creating shallow pits. Then it flexibly whipped around, once again sweeping with a whooshing sound towards Su Wan, who had just managed to steady herself!
