Apocalypse Beginning: I’M Pregnant With The Blackened Male Lead’S Child

Chapter 47: Three offal

Xiao Han and A Mo returned, their gazes sweeping over the corpses. A flash of surprise crossed Xiao Han's face, quickly replaced by a playful grin: "Oh, Lu Da Shao, you're so fast, you didn't leave any fun for us."

A Mo silently approached, only glancing at the corpses on the ground.

"The mission is important. These scoundrels wasted a lot of time," Lu Shiyan said indifferently.

Before he finished speaking, a rustling sound came from above.

Su Wan reacted extremely quickly, abruptly looking up, a huge shadow already engulfing her vision.

A mutated spider, even larger than the previous one, was descending from the ceiling, its eight glowing compound eyes fixed intently on her!

"Holy crap!" Xiao Han retreated three steps. "Didn't the mission say there was only one spider?"

Lightning flickered in Lu Shiyan's hand: "The intelligence was wrong."

The spider splayed its eight legs, letting out a sharp hiss, and lunged straight at Su Wan!

A Mo stepped forward to shield her. He let out a low growl, his arm muscles bulging, veins coiling like dragons, as he slammed a heavy punch into the spider's foreleg!

"Clang!" With a loud crash, A Mo's fist seemed to strike metal. The spider was knocked back two steps, completely unharmed. A Mo grunted, a hint of solemnity flashing across his face.

Xiao Han grinned: "This guy's skin is really thick! Try mine!"

He waved both hands, and several sharp Wind Blades shot through the air, whistling as they sliced towards the spider's eight legs.

The Wind Blades tore through the air, fiercely striking the spider's legs, which were covered in hard chitin.

"Clink, clank, clatter!"

Sparks flew, and most of the Wind Blades only left a few shallow white marks on its dark chitin.

Only a few Wind Blades, angled cunningly, concentrated their attack on a relatively vulnerable joint connection on one of the spider's legs, barely managing to sever a section of its thinnest appendage.

"Watch out for the venom!" Lu Shiyan pulled Su Wan behind him.

The spider opened its massive jaws, and a black, viscous liquid sprayed out. Lu Shiyan raised his hand, and a bolt of lightning struck, evaporating the venom mid-air.

"This guy is tough to deal with." Xiao Han's expression became serious, no longer playful.

The spider suddenly climbed onto the ceiling and quickly wove a giant web. Su Wan, with her sharp eyes, saw faint currents flickering on the web, creating tiny sparks as they brushed against metal supports.

The web grew larger and larger, spreading outwards, with currents flowing through it, making a "sizzling" sound.

"Get away from the walls!" Lu Shiyan pulled Su Wan and flashed to the center of the workshop.

Xiao Han made a wind-assisted leap backward: "Are they evolving? They're encircling us!" Four or five spiders surrounded them.

A Mo looked at the few abandoned machines in the open space: "Too little cover."

"Three o'clock direction, safety exit!" Lu Shiyan surveyed the battlefield, his eyes sharp as an eagle's. "Xiao Han, clear the way, A Mo, cover our rear, Su Wan, follow me!"

Just as they were about to move, the largest spider above them suddenly swooped down, its seven intact long legs flailing like scythes of death, aiming directly for Su Wan!

"Careful!"

Lu Shiyan reacted incredibly fast, forcefully pushing Su Wan away.

He himself was too slow to dodge and was severely swept across his lower back by one of the spider's legs!

"Bang!"

When he landed, his throat tasted sweet, and a mouthful of fresh blood uncontrollably welled up from the corner of his mouth, his vision blurring for a moment. The immense force caused the wall behind him to crack like a spiderweb, showing the ferocity of the spider's attack.

"Lu Shiyan!" Su Wan shrieked.

The spider, having landed a hit, did not stop. Its massive body deftly turned in mid-air, aimed at the now steady Su Wan, and sprayed another stream of black viscous liquid!

A Mo leaped up, blocking in front of her. The viscous liquid struck his arm, instantly corroding a large hole in his sleeve, making a disgusting "hissing" sound. On his exposed, bulging arm muscles, his skin rapidly turned black and festered, emitting a foul-smelling white smoke, clearly enduring unspeakable agony.

"A Mo!"

"I'm fine." A Mo gritted his teeth, veins bulging on his forehead. "I can take it."

Xiao Han arrived with the wind, his fingertips flickering, sending Wind Blades towards the spider's compound eyes, but they were all blocked by the spider's forelegs.

"Damn it, it's too agile!" Xiao Han cursed under his breath.

Lu Shiyan leaned against the wall, struggling to stand steady despite his swaying body, his shoulders trembling slightly uncontrollably.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his eyes growing even colder and more piercing.

A bolt of lightning, thicker and more violent than before, shot from his fingertips, carrying an aura of destruction, striking directly at the spider's head!

The spider sensed the fatal danger and, at the last moment, leaped aside with incredible agility.

The lightning only struck one of its legs.

"Boom!"

With a loud explosion, large amounts of foul-smelling green fluid splattered.

The spider let out a shrill shriek, quickly dragging its injured leg as it scrambled up the wall, disappearing into the darkness of the workshop ceiling.

"Don't relax! It's still here!" Lu Shiyan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

The workshop fell into a deathly silence, with only their heavy breathing.

Suddenly, a soft "shasha" sound came from above.

"Above!" Su Wan was the first to catch the sound, warning sharply.

Before she finished speaking, the spider descended from above, simultaneously opening its mouth, and an electrically charged web covered their heads!

Xiao Han pushed with both hands, and a Wind Wall deflected the web. However, the spider used the momentum to lunge at Su Wan, its sharp forelegs aiming directly for her chest.

"Su Wan!"

The sharp spike rapidly enlarged in her pupils, and the shadow of death loomed. Su Wan instinctively raised her Tang Dao, holding it horizontally across her chest.

She noticed that the spider's previously lightning-struck injured leg was now slightly sluggish and stiff in its movements!

In a flash, she abruptly shifted her body, her Tang Dao no longer passively blocking, but infused with all her strength, the blade slashing upwards at an extremely tricky angle, the tip heading straight for the joint gap of that injured leg!

"Break for me!" she hissed in a low roar.

"Pfft!"

The Tang Dao successfully cut through the weaker part of the chitin, bringing out a trail of green fluid!

The spider let out a short, pained hiss, its attack momentarily stalling!

It was in this precious moment!

Several dark green vines shot out from the side like living, sentient snakes!

"Swish, swish, swish!"

The vines precisely wrapped around the spider's long legs, which were attempting to strike, and tightened suddenly!

"Screech—"

The spider's movements were forcibly halted, its sharp limbs stopping mere inches from Su Wan's forehead, the strong wind brushing past her.

Lu Shiyan's figure swayed, already in front of Su Wan, pulling her back.

"Retreat quickly!" His voice was hoarse and urgent.

Su Wan was still shaken, about to speak.

The giant spider, temporarily trapped by the vines, suddenly and without warning, bent its two rear legs at a bizarre angle completely defying biological structure, the joints emitting a teeth-grinding friction sound, like two poisoned scythes, silently, with even the sound of cutting through the air being extremely subtle, suddenly stabbing out from behind Lu Shiyan! Its previous struggles seemed to have been to conceal this fatal blow!

Lu Shiyan was fully exerting his ability to control the spider, his mind highly focused on the strength of the vines and Su Wan's safety, coupled with being previously injured and his qi and blood still surging, he failed to detect this insidious attack from his blind spot in time!

"Pfft!"

The muffled sound of a sharp blade piercing flesh was chillingly clear.

Su Wan's pupils contracted sharply.

Lu Shiyan's body trembled violently, unable to even let out a grunt, and he staggered half a step forward.

He looked down.

Two segments of sinister, dark-glowing limbs had pierced through his back, emerging from his chest, bringing with them dripping blood and shredded flesh.

The dark green vines instantly lost their power, falling limply.

"Lu... Lu Shiyan..." Su Wan's voice trembled uncontrollably.

He saved her.

Again.

But the cost was...

Lu Shiyan slowly turned his head, his face as pale as paper, his lips moving as if he wanted to say something.

A trickle of blood, however, first overflowed from the corner of his mouth, winding its way down.

Those eyes, always sharp and calm, were now clouded by an unshakeable shadow.

The spider let out a triumphant shriek, its long legs, now freed from the vines, swung again, preparing to finish off the human who had severely wounded it.
