Xing Chen and Theresa explored the library a few more times, and also obtained some new information.
Before the anomalous bookshelf, all content was identical and undecipherable, while after the anomalous bookshelf, adjacent shelves were largely similar, and opposing shelves were vastly different.
To facilitate navigation, they marked the pathway closest to the official history and designated it as north.
“Theresa, don't you think this library is missing something?” Looking at the vast library with only himself and the Demon Lord, Xing Chen always felt it was a bit wasteful.
Housing prices had dropped, but as a person from the Eastern Country, he still had a strong attachment to a three-bedroom, one-living room apartment.
“Indeed, this central space is a bit small,” Theresa looked at the bookshelf not far away, fiddled with her computer a few times, and the bookshelf immediately retreated into the distance, expanding the open area several times over.
“What did you do?”
“I don't know, I just modified some code. I didn't even use Originium Arts.”
“Could it be that the spatial arrangement here can be directly controlled by computer programs?”
“Possibly, I'll try again.”
Theresa started fiddling with her code again, but no matter how she modified it, the only thing that changed was the distance between the bookshelf and the table.
Well, although it wasn't as amazing as imagined, being able to free up space was still useful.
Xing Chen suggested to Theresa whether they should properly decorate this place and make it their secret base.
This all had prerequisites: to be a secret base, first, the two of them needed to be able to consistently access this space; second, they needed to be able to travel to their desired locations through this space.
“Okay, it looks like there's no problem traveling from my world to the library,” Xing Chen put down Theresa's laptop, stretched his limbs, “My body is also fine. This level of calling upon the continuation of civilization is not a problem.”
“Then shall we test if the library's connection to Terra is stable next?” Theresa checked her laptop, ensuring that traveling between the human world and the library would not cause it any damage.
“Wait a moment, Theresa, there's one more thing to do. Don't you think it's troublesome to always carry a gaming laptop?”
“Is it? I don't think it's troublesome. Your gaming laptops are much lighter than our terminals.”
The library needed computer control, and it wasn't moving, nor were there any outsiders, so setting up a desktop computer would eliminate the need to run around with a laptop.
Xing Chen knocked on the door of Brother Wang next door, asking him if he had any spare computer parts that he could sell him cheaply.
Brother Wang scratched his head, stating that he didn't have any 40-series in stock, and the 50-series was expensive and seemed to have some minor issues. As for the 30-series, he didn't know how many years it would last, and buying it now might be a loss.
He did have many other parts, and Xing Chen could have them all cheaply.
So, Xing Chen had no choice but to buy a large pile of parts and assemble them in the library first.
After that, he and Theresa repeated the previous process and successfully entered the library.
“Actually, whether there's that graphics card or not, it's fine. With just a CPU, I can achieve most functions.”
After the host was installed, Theresa established a stable channel between the human world and the library through remote operation, and Xing Chen no longer needed to sit in front with a laptop.
What he and Theresa found very amazing was that even without energy input, the machine could operate normally.
“I hope it doesn't suddenly grow flesh one day,” Xing Chen said to Theresa, “So how do we get to Terra?”
“Hmm... how about we use the old method?”
“But aren't we already in... Well, I don't have any other ideas, so we can only try it.”
So, Theresa cast Originium Arts on Xing Chen, and both of them blacked out, then arrived in the cave where the Knight's treasure was discovered.
Kuranta Village Chief and the Aegir Deep Sea Hunter had long since departed, and simple tombstones stood before two small graves.
In this scene, the two fell into silence, then quickly exchanged glances, and in a tacit understanding, dug up their own graves.
The Kuranta Village Chief was still kind-hearted, leaving a little money as an offering for Xing Chen and Theresa.
“At least it wasn't a wasted trip,” Xing Chen patted the dust off his clothes, “Let's go back to the library first.”
Theresa nodded, then took out her phone, pressed a few times, and the two were teleported back to the library.
Now the pathway to Terra was also confirmed, and this library could indeed be used as a base for the two of them.
“Xing Chen, I suspect this library is neither in my world nor in your world.”
“I think so too. The time here is not synchronized with mine, and we can enter Terra by dreaming.”
“Could it be that this is a interstice between two worlds?”
“Possibly. If we encounter danger in the future, we can directly bring people here to escape. Perhaps we can even transfer other Terrans to my world through here.”
“Why not bring people from your world to Terra?”
“Oh, please, our strongest people struggle to fight a Pan Crab, alright.”
After that, the two of them moved other items, such as cooking utensils, refrigerators, and other daily necessities, here.
“Theresa, what are you doing bringing cloth here?” Xing Chen laid out the floor mat; he found that his sleep was unaffected here.
“Making some decorations.” Theresa replied, while manipulating her Originium Arts.
The fabric disintegrated and reassembled in her hands, quickly forming several small dolls.
Himself and Theresa together, the Seer, Kal'tsit, and Amiya on the other side.
At this point, Xing Chen asked her if she could make a life-sized one. Theresa said it was a strange request but not difficult.
Soon, a life-sized Theresa appeared before Xing Chen.
Xing Chen put in a great effort to suppress the urge to check if she was realistic.
“It feels like something is missing, it's a bit creepy,” Theresa said, raising her hand, intending to destroy the life-sized figure.
“Keep it. You might need it later,” Xing Chen came to Theresa's side and patted the figure with the book that was suspected to be from a Sarkota ancestor.
Then, the book was “sucked” into the figure's body.
Xing Chen and Theresa, mainly the latter, carefully checked the doll's condition, confirmed there were no problems, then found a box to put it in, and sealed it with witchcraft.
“Problem solved,” Theresa covered the box with cloth, put cushions on it to make a sofa, and gave Xing Chen a thumbs-up, “By the way, shouldn't we give this place a name? How about Wandering's End?”
Xing Chen understood her desire to find a sanctuary for the Sarkaz, “But the word 'wandering' doesn't sound very good. How about 'Wandering's End' instead?”
“Wandering's End... that's pretty good too.”
