Mammy Cao was really efficient. No one knows what she did or how she did it, but somehow the messenger who was supposed to reach the Big River Village in ten days arrived in five.

Once he arrived at the Big River Village, she immediately rushed to the Yu house and went to look for Yu Dong.

At that moment, Yu Dong was watering the plants that were growing in her garden. When she noticed someone rushing inside, she raised her head, as she did not know who this person was.

“Excuse me?” she asked the messenger. “Who are you and why are you in such a hurry?”

“I am from Apple City,” the messenger panted; she was nursing a stitch in her waist. “Mammy Cao.. Mammy Cao asked me to come here. She asked me to tell you that something happened to Master Fei and he was injured gravely…she had asked you to come quickly as Master Fei’s condition is not looking good.”

No sooner did the woman finish speaking, there was a loud bang behind Yu Dong. She turned to look at the source of sound and found Second Grandmother Yu sitting on the ground.

Her eyes were wide, and her mouth was slack in horror, as if she could not believe the words that were said by the messenger just now.

“Yu Yue… Yu Yue…” Second Grandmother Yu called out to her eldest daughter, who had come with her to the Big River Village.

“Mother,” Yu Yue was a middle-aged woman, but she was really agile and quick on her feet. She was also really strong; thus, the second she stepped out of the house, Yu Yue helped Second Grandmother Yu on her feet. “What’s wrong? Why are you sitting on the ground?”

Second Grandmother Yu turned to look at Yu Yue and said to her in a hurry, “This –This messenger said that something happened to Fei Fei. And that his condition is not good! My poor Fei Fei, he is such a good child, how–how could … ah.. Ah.. Fei Fei…”

As Second Grandmother Yu cried for her son, her eyes rolled back in her sockets as she fainted.

“Mother!”

“Second Grandmother!”

Yu Yue and Yu Dong helped Second Grandmother Yu inside the house. Yu Dong turned to look at Shen Li and said to him, “Quickly, bring your acupuncture needles and help stabilise Second Grandmother’s condition.”

Shen Li nodded; though he just started learning acupuncture, he was really smart. Thus, he could easily deal with a case like this.

He rushed inside his room and brought back a bag of acupuncture needles.

“Step aside,” Shen Li said to Yu Yue before sitting down on the stool. He took Second Grandmother Yu’s wrist in his hands and carefully studied her pulse. His brows furrowed in a frown before he took out a few sharp needles and placed them on Second Grandmother Yu’s tongue as well as her forehead and the side of her temples.

“She is alright,” Shen Li said to the rest. “Just a bit agitated, because she got too excited; her heart couldn’t take it anymore and she ended up fainting. I have stabilised her condition, she should be fine now.”

Yu Yue heaved a sigh of relief. Evn the messenger heaved a sigh of relief. She was in a hurry to relay the message and didn’t pay attention to the fact that there was an elderly woman standing in the courtyard.

In case something had happened to her, she wouldn’t be able to forgive herself!

Once her mother was alright, Yu Yue turned to look at the messenger and asked, “Is it true? Did something really happen to my brother?”

The messenger nodded uncomfortably. “That’s what I was told to say. Mammy Cao said to me that I need to bring Miss Yu Dong and Miss Wu Junfen to Apple City as soon as possible. If not, something might happen to Master Fei.”

“Sister Junfen?” Yu Dong narrowed her eyes.

“That’s right.”

Something must have happened at that village where Uncle Yu Fei was living; if not, Mammy Cao would not have asked for Wu Junfen to come with them.

“I see, you wait for us,” Yu Dong said to the woman. “We will get ready and leave right away.”

She then turned to look at Yu Mai and said to him, “Go Mai, go and bring your sister Junfen. Tell her that there is an emergency.”

Yu Mai, who was clutching the pants of Ye Liu, nodded as he turned on his feet and ran out of the room.

Once he was gone, Yu Dong turned to her husbands. She said to them, “Go and pack my bags; I will be leaving right away.”

Chen Mi and Sun Jie were extremely flustered when they heard that Yu Dong was leaving.

She just returned to the village, but now she had to leave again. But when they thought about how Yu Fei needed their wife’s help, they turned on their feet and went to pack her bags.

“Shall one of us come with you?” Ye Liu asked as he looked at Yu Dong, who shook her head.
