Everyone fell silent for a moment as Gamond’s wings got ripped off. It took them a second to digest it. The white drakaina’s tenacious and mighty wings were powerful and durable enough for her to use as weapons, yet they were just ripped off like paper.
As her cold blood splashed on the frozen ground and solidified into red pillars of diamond ice. More horrid tentacles of skinned humans flew out of the darkness and wrapped around her limbs and neck.
At that moment, a wave of demonic magic washed over Gamond’s body, and the tentacles got ripped apart, slashed into tiny pieces as Lunara stood there, her eyes burning red. There was no moon here, so she couldn’t use her expansion, but if it is throwing slashes, then she can still wreak havoc.
Gamond growled and spun around, engulfing everyone beside her and Lunara in a massive frozen egg of her blood. She then immediately switched back to her humanoid form, so she isn’t such a small target.
“Thanks! They ripped my wings so they are powerful, probably would’ve snapped my neck if you didn’t help.” She looked back at the Ice Blood egg, “And that would probably last for an attack or two at most.”
At this moment, they were surrounded by the tentacles from every direction, and those were powerful enough to harm Gamond. Whatever being is hiding within the darkness probably wanted to just wait for everyone to starve to death. If anything, the sinners of hell had it was time. And out of everyone in the group, Matilda was the weakest, especially in endurance.
Those gross tentacles, skinless humans hugging one another and moaning in pain, all moving as a massive, appalling tentacle. Those aren’t the creature’s main body, but an extension of it, like limbs, or… judging by the size of the area, hair. Even looking at them is making the two disgusted, so what would they feel if they saw the monster’s real body?
Lunara gulped and looked at Gamond, “We’ll have to fight this blind.” Both of them could fight very well without relying on sight, but it’ll be extremely hard, and this doesn’t look like an opponent that they can defeat with ease.
Gamond nodded and sealed her eyes with ice. “I know, damn it, I hate those who reply on mind hex.”
Lunara didn’t have anything to block her eyes, so she just slashed them. And with blood streaming down her cheek, and tentacles slowly approaching with malice, she took her thigh-high boots off. Her horns disappeared, and her ears shifted into long bunny ears. The muscles on her legs grew tight, and her toes dug into the cold ice as she took a running start.
She then jumped forward, the ground shattered beneath her steps into a shockwave that rushed toward the tentacles, but Lunara was even faster, already having kicked one of the tentacles in half. Then, from her round kick, five slashes flew out and ripped more tentacles into pieces.
Gamond, on the other hand, stood still, a smile on her face as blood streamed from her back. Two wounds were left there, as that’s where her wings should be. Unlike Lunara, she had another fighting style in mind.
Gamond’s clothes started fading away into sparks of light as she stored them away. Instead, shards of opal ice started covering her delicate pale skin, growing thicker and thicker to form an elegant ice armor of layered scales and two mighty white wings. On her head, twelve long ice horns formed a crown that sparked with radiant magic.
She looked forward with a large grin, the ice mask covering her face glowed as she lifted her hand, showing the ice gauntlet that ended in long and sharp claws. There was no need for words, and she flew at the tentacles, ripping them to shreds with her claws, each wound freezing into ice and slowing the tentacles down.
Lunara’s ears twitched for a second. She can hear wings, Gamond’s wings flapping, but those sound like they are made from ice. She didn’t expect the white drakaina to be able to use ice wings for flight. Her control over cold magic must be second to none, but that won’t help there. Those tentacles seem endless.
The two rushed through the tentacles, ripping them to pieces and trying to protect the blood egg. At the same time, they formed a simple plan. The creature wants Matilda; that’s why he’ll keep attacking the egg.
Gamond will throw Matilda out of the egg and take everyone else and run, leaving Lunara and Matilda in the darkness. Lunara will then defend Matilda for as long as she can. In the meantime, Gamond needs to reach safety and teleport them away using the seal.
The problem with that plan is that they aren’t sure how smart the thing controlling those tentacles is, and they could feel it drawing near, so they can’t waste any more time.
“Hey, bunny. Once that thing arrives, we’re dead.” Gamond said with an amused smile. “I don’t think I’m up to the idea of being chained to hell.”
“Neither do I. This place reeks.” Lunara replied with a growl as she kicked several tentacles away. “Make me a moon and throw it as high as you can.”
“Listen, bunny. I can’t make a whole moon.” Gamond flew past several tentacles and froze them in place. “But I’ll make you a small one.”
Gamond turned around and flew at the egg, and flew right through the frozen blood. Her magic is what made the egg, and it won’t stand in her way. Inside the egg, the exhausted and bloodied Gamond looked at them, “Sorry, kitty, we need you to act as bait with Lunara. Just stand at her legs and don’t move.”
After receiving a quick nod from Matilda, Gamond shattered the egg and grabbed everyone. She threw Matilda toward Lunara and conjured a massive, hundred-meter-wide sphere of ice and sent it flying into the sky.
Matilda rolled on the ice and finally used her claws to stop right beside Lunara’s mighty legs. “I hope she explained, stick close.” Lunara lifted her hands, and Matilda leaned against her legs. That was the only safe place from what Lunara was about to do.
[Elemental Expansion: Moon Rain]
From the fake moon, a million slashes rained down on the tentacles, ripping them apart. A wide grin appeared on Lunara’s face. Her slashes won’t harm Gamond thanks to the seal she gave her earlier, so she can use her draconic body to cover everyone else.
But even with all of those slashes cutting the tentacles to pieces, Lunara could sense the monster’s true body approaching. Suddenly, even bigger and stronger tentacles rushed at her and Gamond, who was trying to grab everyone else and fly away.
[Demonic Release: Oni no Hare] Lunara finally unleashed the full power of her demonic blood, ready to stall for time as long as she could and keep Matilda safe. With her foot, she drew a two-meter-wide circle around Matilda with a single swift spin and then lifted one leg up. With a wide smile and a body burning with demonic magic, she growled, “Stay inside.”
But at that moment, a sonic boom exploded above their head, and both Lunara and Gamond, who were relying on their ears and other senses to fight, fell down, blood gushing out of their ears. A massive swarm of titanic bats appeared above them.
