The Primordial Record

Chapter 1709: Madness And Blood

This brief clash was brutal, almost animalistic, but the level of laws that were being thrown around had eclipsed anything that any immortal in Reality could withstand; a battle like this was never meant to be fought inside a Reality.

Every move they made carried an infinite number of laws, and so a simple punch had myriad changes within it that would take a billion Old Ones, an endless number of years to slowly decipher and understand.

For Rowan’s punch to reach her, he had to basically tear through a field of omnipotence around her body, which reduced all damage to null, and even when that field was torn through, her flesh was not truly flesh, just concepts that had been woven so intricately it took the guise of flesh because of their will.

Primordial Soul had placed Rowan as an equal in her mind. She had watched as countless powerful enemies fell before him, and he grew stronger; he was fully growing into his nature.

Few may understand that although the Primordials were said to be matchless, it was not necessarily the case; there was one entity that could match and kill them given the right situation, and those entities… were Realities.

Of course, most Reality would never gain the capacity to kill a Primordial because they were mostly beings of Creation; however, what would happen if an entity whose sole function was to give life to the darkness of Limbo becomes corrupted by fury, bloodlust, madness, and death?

Nobody knows, not even Primordial Soul herself, the architect of this madness.

Still, nothing would prepare anyone for the screams of agony that erupted from Primordial Soul as Rowan cut her in two and pulled out the blade.

As the Destroyer tore Primordial Soul in two, it also ripped her apart from the inside and feasted on her blood, flesh, and bones.

Rowan slowly pulled his hand back, and the Destroyer emerged from its feast a thing of horror. It had once been broken in battle, with barely a third of its blade left, and that part was filled with cracks; only the Will of this powerful weapon and the nurturing of Rowan kept it whole.

Drawing the blade from the broken body of Primordial Soul, Rowan growled, “As I unmake, so also do I create.”

What emerged from the body of Primordial Soul was both grotesque and awe-inspiring. Pulling from his talent of creation and destruction, he fulfilled the last requirements needed for forging a new blade using his Aspect as a Slaughter Revenant.

His blade that had once been broken was now whole, but it was no longer made from metal. Its length was forged from all the bones that could be harvested from the body of Primordial Soul, including vertebrae, demure, her spine, and the bones from her limbs, all melded with her sinews and hardened cartilage.

The edges of the blade are lined with teeth and fingernails sharper than the edges of a dimension, and they numbered in the billions. Tendrils of flesh and blood began traveling up the blade, covering the hilt and the pomel, transforming the metal into flesh.

The hilt became wrapped in still-living muscle fibers that pulsed faintly underneath his grip, as if the sword were breathing, and the guard shifted, spreading through Rowan’s fingers as if it were holding his hand.

The pommel of the Destroyer had a fleshy orb—the eye of Primordial Soul, and at first, the eye was blazing with pain and fury, but it slowly turned red as the Will of the Slaughter Revenant corrupted it to the core, and it became an extension of Rowan.

Even after taking out the blade from the remnant of her body, Primordial Soul was still screaming. What remained at Rowan’s feet was a shapeless mass of broken flesh, and her pain was so great that a million faces erupted from her flesh and began to scream.

Their mouths kept stretching wide open, tearing her flesh further into pieces, revealing wet glimpses of a strange void inside of her.

Rowan did not give her any chance to Recover, he had injured her, but not in the way that truly mattered, still, he knew that a battle like this was not just about dealing more damage, it was like making music, knowing the right note to place in the correct position for a thrilling score to be created was essential else all would be chaos.

Rowan brought his leg up, a blaze of annihilating power turning it into a pillar of pure destruction, and he slammed it into the screaming flesh below.

In the brief moment before his leg could smash against Primordial Soul, the screams from her suddenly ceased, and a weird silver glow erupted from the billions of eyes all over her body. Rowan’s leg pierced through the barrier of her perception and slammed into her flesh.

The mass of flesh below tore itself in two, creating a massive chasm that led to a strange dimension. Rowan tried to pull back his leg, but it was too late. A suction force drew his leg into the chasm, and the broken flesh of Primordial Soul closed around his leg, and then an intense sound of chewing erupted from his limbs.

In a single moment, the armor around his leg was shattered, and a sharp and persistent pain covered his entire leg down to his knee.

Rowan pushed all of the power of his Core into his feet, and a wave of radiance exploded from his leg that blasted Primordial Soul into tiny fragments of flesh.

Rowan looked down at his legs and groaned in pain. He noticed that there were tiny purple spots all over his legs. With the physique of an Apex Omniversal Titan, he should be invincible, but as always, Primordials did not care for the damned rules.

The tiny purple spots on his leg did not show the accurate scale of the devastation. He may have blasted away the flesh of Primordial Soul from his leg, but she had managed to push a lot of her body into his leg, and those tiny spots of purple were showing where her flesh had pierced through his leg to fuse with it.

Underneath his skin, the flesh of Primordial Soul had branched into veins, threading through his arteries like parasitic roots, and heading towards his bones. If they could breach his bones, they would have a superhighway that could easily open a floodgate to the rest of his system.

Rowan roared and swung his sword to cut off his leg, but Primordial Soul appeared beside him, her flesh was a mishmash of bleeding flesh and screaming madness, she grabbed hold of his hand, preventing his blade from falling, and she giggled,

“I am beginning to like this game we are playing. Let me in and I will show you pleasure ike you have never known.”

Her flesh transformed into bleeding tentacles that grabbed all of his limbs and suspended him in the air. His wings were beating wildly, teleporting them into various corners of the city, but Primordial Soul had a firm grip on Rowan, and even with his strength, he would not be able to free himself before it was too late.

Reaching inside his soul, he pushed his consciousness towards the forbidden power of the Realm’s Butcher, and with a growl that shook the heavens and the earth, he activated it.
