Tokyo Ghoul: Twelve Talismans To Hammer The Gecko

Chapter 28: Mado Kureo's Request

"Special Investigator Marude, you have a call!"

In the office, the secretary picked up the phone, then turned his head and said.

"Who is it?"

Special Investigator Marude rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

"It's Superior Lize calling."

The secretary nodded and said truthfully.

"Superior Lize?"

Upon hearing that name, Special Investigator Marude immediately became interested.

After all, although Lin Ze hadn't been here for long, his record of soloing an S-class Ghoul without injuries was too dazzling to ignore.

"Give me the phone, I'll talk to him."

Marude put down the documents in his hand, then took the phone: "Superior Lize, what can I do for you?"

"Special Investigator Marude, I just wiped out the Ghoul Restaurant over here. Send a few Investigators to handle it."

Just as he picked up, Lin Ze's incredibly lazy voice came from the other end.

"Ah?"

Perhaps because the amount of information in that sentence was too much, Special Investigator Marude was slightly stunned, almost unable to react.

"Wait, are you saying that you, by yourself, wiped out the large Ghoul organization in the Seventh Ward, the Ghoul Restaurant?"

It took a full half minute for Special Investigator Marude to recover from his shock.

"That's right, just finished dealing with it."

Lin Ze's voice on the other end of the phone was still calm and natural.

"Well done, extremely well done!"

"Alright, give me the address. I'll send people over immediately."

Special Investigator Marude immediately gripped the receiver tightly, looking very excited.

After all, he had been eyeing this Ghoul Restaurant for a long time.

But he still hadn't caught them, which gave him a headache.

Yet, he never expected that Lin Ze would actually wipe them out. That was excellent!

As soon as Lin Ze gave the address, Special Investigator Marude immediately had his secretary record it and dispatched the nearest Investigators to handle it.

"I told you this kid was capable, he really has some tricks up his sleeve!"

After hanging up the phone, Special Investigator Marude slammed the table, looking very excited.

A moment later, he fell into silence again.

"Perhaps, that dangerous mission can be entrusted to him."

Meanwhile, at a luxurious hotel on the other side.

"Amon, what do you think of Superior Lize?"

Walking down the corridor towards the private room, Kureo Mado suddenly asked.

"Superior Lize's strength is very strong. If I may be frank, he might have already reached the level of a Special Investigator!"

Amon Kotaro thought for a moment, then said with extreme seriousness and earnestness.

"An interesting answer. From the first time I saw him, I could feel that he was strong, very strong!"

"And he's the kind of strong that's far stronger than both you and me."

Kureo Mado nodded, one eye slightly widened, shimmering with a hint of excited light.

"But I never expected him to be able to wipe out the entire Ghoul Restaurant by himself. How interesting~"

Upon hearing this, Amon Kotaro couldn't help but nod as well.

Half an hour ago, they received an urgent notice from CCG Headquarters, stating that the large Ghoul organization, the Ghoul Restaurant, in the Seventh Ward had been wiped out by an Investigator.

At that time, Amon Kotaro happened to be investigating nearby with Kureo Mado, so they immediately rushed over.

At first, he was wondering which Investigator was so strong to dare infiltrate Ghoul territory alone.

But after learning it was Lin Ze, he wasn't surprised at all.

"Room 607, this should be it?"

Seeing the target private room in front of them, the two stopped.

After listening to the sounds inside, Kureo Mado reached out and pushed open the door.

Creak~

The moment the door opened, a strong scent of blood wafted out.

"Such a strong smell of blood, it seems this must be the place."

Amon Kotaro frowned slightly, gripping the Quinque suitcase in his hand.

"Relax, Amon, I don't smell any danger."

Kureo Mado's slightly widened eyes scanned the surroundings, then he walked in.

Soon, the two found a hidden passage leading upstairs.

After exiting the passage, the smell of blood in the air instantly became even more intense.

This seemed to be a gladiatorial arena, but it was filled with severed limbs and broken bodies, extremely bloody.

Bodies were strewn everywhere on the ground, most of them wearing decent clothes and various masks.

"I didn't expect so many people to have died."

Scanning the surroundings, Amon Kotaro frowned.

"The people here should indeed be Ghouls from the Ghoul Restaurant group."

After examining the bodies of these well-dressed Ghouls, Kureo Mado nodded.

It was at this moment that they noticed Lin Ze, who was sitting casually on a chair made of Ghoul bodies, playing with his phone.

Upon seeing this scene, Amon Kotaro felt a sense of disbelief.

How could he remain so calm and composed, playing on his phone, in the face of such a bloody and brutal scene?

"Superior Lize, Superior Mado and I are here to help you!"

"You've arrived?"

Upon seeing the two, Lin Ze put down his phone and stood up.

"All the Ghoul bodies are downstairs. You can check if they are from the Ghoul Restaurant."

"Also, there seems to be an escape route up here. You can check it out later."

After speaking, Lin Ze pointed towards the noble seats above.

"Alright, we'll take it from here."

Amon Kotaro nodded, then took out a notebook and wrote it down.

"Okay, I'm done here. You two do a good job, I'm heading back first."

Lin Ze patted his shoulder, then turned to leave.

"Are you just going to leave now?"

Amon was slightly stunned, a little surprised.

He had originally thought Lin Ze would wait for the headquarters' clerks to arrive and then give a general report of the situation or something.

But now, he was actually going to leave so directly?

"Is there a problem?"

Lin Ze turned his head, looking somewhat confused and puzzled.

"Aren't you going to tell us the specific situation?"

Amon Kotaro coughed, then said with extreme seriousness and earnestness.

"Oh, that?"

Lin Ze fell into contemplation, and after a moment, slowly said:

"Someone invited me here for dinner, then the table in the room rose, and I arrived at this gladiatorial arena."

"There was a pile of Ghouls sitting up there, then a big guy rushed out wanting to dismember me, but I counter-killed him."

"Then I tore apart all the Ghouls here, and finally called headquarters for backup."

"That's pretty much how it went..."

After speaking, Lin Ze nodded, looking very natural and calm.

"Is that so?"

After listening, Amon Kotaro was completely bewildered.

He clearly heard every word, but when put together, he couldn't understand it.

"That's it. You can tell the clerks later. I have other things to do."

Lin Ze nodded, then turned to leave.

"Wait, Superior Lize~"

But at that moment, Kureo Mado suddenly spoke, stopping him.

"Superior Mado, is there anything else?"

Lin Ze stopped and turned his head.

"It's like this: my daughter, Mado Akira, is a CCG Second-Class Investigator."

"I've been wanting to find an experienced Investigator to guide her and improve her strength and experience as much as possible."

"But I haven't found anyone suitable. I recently heard that Superior Lize has many new subordinates."

"So, could my daughter become your subordinate?"

Kureo Mado's one eye widened slightly, revealing a sincere smile.

"If she is willing, of course, she can."

Upon hearing this, Lin Ze nodded and did not refuse.

After all, having more subordinates is always good; at least they can help him with some things.

Although he couldn't guarantee what he could teach them, ensuring their safety was not a problem.

"Thank you, thank you, that would be a great help~"

Kureo Mado nodded, his eyes slightly narrowed, revealing a faint smile.

"Because I could die at any time, I must prepare beforehand."

"If I pass away, then I entrust my daughter to you~"
