The day after Hagrid was sent to the hospital wing, he woke up from his coma.
When Hagrid awoke, Dumbledore and McGonagall appeared in the hospital wing and asked him what had happened.
Hagrid naturally wouldn't hide anything from Dumbledore, so he reported everything he had been doing over the past few months in detail.
When the Acromantula were attacked, Hagrid had already discovered traces of strangers entering the Forbidden Forest.
After reporting to the school, he began to persuade the Centaurs and Acromantula to help him search for the Dark Wizard who had infiltrated the Forbidden Forest.
Hagrid didn't believe that the Little Wizards at Hogwarts were capable of using the Killing Curse to kill Acromantula, so he guessed that some Dark Wizard who liked poaching might have snuck into the Forbidden Forest.
Initially, the search in the Forbidden Forest yielded nothing, until the Centaurs discovered a mysterious Dark Wizard in a black robe hunting Unicorns, which made them realize that the target was Unicorn blood.
So Hagrid frequented the Forbidden Forest more often and patrolled around the Unicorn tribes.
Unexpectedly, during his routine patrol of the Forbidden Forest today, he happened to witness the black-robed person attacking a Unicorn.
Seeing the poor Unicorn being drained of its blood by the Dark Wizard with his own eyes, an enraged Hagrid immediately charged forward with Fang.
The rest goes without saying. If he had used a sneak attack, with Hagrid's innate strength, he might have been able to defeat the opponent by surprise.
But Hagrid chose to warn him first before engaging in a duel.
Hagrid, without the ability to cast spells, became a living target.
If it weren't for Hagrid being a half-giant with thick skin, and Fang alerting others...
If Chen Yu and Harry hadn't arrived in time, he would likely have been tortured first and then killed.
McGonagall felt a sense of dread after hearing Hagrid's report. If the two Little Wizards hadn't arrived in time, the consequences would have been very serious.
Hogwarts might have lost its Gamekeeper.
She and Dumbledore might have lost a colleague and friend they had spent every day with.
"When you discover something so important, you should notify Albus immediately! How could you be so impulsive? How could you think you could deal with a Dark Wizard? You have no spell-casting ability! Moreover, that Dark Wizard should be related to You-Know-Who, very likely one of the Death Eater who escaped capture back then!"
Listening to Professor McGonagall's nagging, Hagrid opened his mouth, not knowing how to respond. He was indeed too impulsive at the time.
But when he saw the Dark Wizard lie on the Unicorn sucking blood, he couldn't suppress the anger in his heart.
Hagrid basically knew all the Unicorns in the Forbidden Forest. No matter which Unicorn it was, Hagrid would treat it as a friend.
But when he thought that the Unicorn had used its life to block the Killing Curse for him, his mood became low again.
Looking at the dejected Hagrid, Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then looked at Hagrid and asked, "Did you see the face of that Dark Wizard?"
"No, he completely hid his face in his hood. At most, I could see his chin, which was as pale as a corpse. But Chen Yu used an unknown spell to break his black robe, causing him to fall from the sky. Unfortunately, it was only a fleeting glimpse, and I could only see a thin figure."
Pale skin, thin build.
Thinking of the disappeared Professor Quirrell, Dumbledore stroked his beard, already having a suspect in mind.
"Rest well in the hospital wing these few days. Harry is also very worried about you, and I will allow him to visit you."
After speaking, he left the hospital wing with Professor McGonagall.
Madam Pomfrey then whispered after Dumbledore left, "The patient has just woken up and needs rest. How can he be disturbed?"
Harry, knowing that Hagrid was awake, smiled happily again. These past few days, he had been taking his friends to visit Hagrid every day.
Hagrid was also recovering well. Under Madam Pomfrey's careful care, his pale face, which had just recovered from a serious illness, gradually became rosy, looking much better.
Madam Pomfrey even allowed Hagrid to get out of bed and move around.
Only a very few people knew about Hagrid's injury. Professor Dumbledore had his own plans; he did not make public the fact that Hagrid had been injured by a Dark Wizard.
Nor did he explain the cause of the bright flashes and booming sounds that day in the Forbidden Forest.
Because the final exams were approaching, everyone was busy studying, and very few people were interested in what happened in the Forbidden Forest.
Especially in the last few days before the final exams, Professor Quirrell disappeared.
Although Dumbledore was immensely powerful, he couldn't conjure up a Defense Against the Dark Arts Class teacher immediately.
Initially, Professor Flitwick was Dumbledore's choice for a substitute teacher, but he politely declined Professor Dumbledore's proposal due to urgent matters with the goblins.
So the last few Defense Against the Dark Arts Class classes could only be taught by Professor Snape.
Although he wasn't officially the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class teacher, Snape felt that with a few days of teaching experience in Defense Against the Dark Arts Class, his application for the position next semester would be much more secure.
This put Snape in a good mood, and he even deducted fewer points from Gryffindor students.
Some speculated that the events in the Forbidden Forest were caused by vampires, and Professor Quirrell might have gone into hiding for a few days to escape pursuit from Romanian vampires.
Others suspected that Professor Snape had driven Professor Quirrell away, as it was well-known that Professor Snape applied to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class teacher every year.
Even more people suspected that Quirrell had left without saying goodbye because he was a coward, as Professor Quirrell's performance on Halloween was still fresh in everyone's minds, and his image as a wimp was deeply ingrained.
Thus, the news of Professor Quirrell's disappearance was like a stone thrown into the ocean, only causing a ripple.
With final exams approaching, everyone was concerned about their tests, and few cared about what had truly happened to Professor Quirrell.
Except for Harry, Chen Yu, Ron, and others.
"Hagrid, the Philosopher's Stone is in danger!"
"Ever since Professor Quirrell disappeared, that despicable Snape must think no one will stop him from getting the Philosopher's Stone. Recently, he hasn't even bothered to target Gryffindor, and sometimes a sinister smile appears at the corner of his mouth during class. He's even been deducting fewer points lately!"
"We can't just sit back and do nothing; we must find a way to stop Snape. I heard from the Centaurs that someone wants to get the Philosopher's Stone. The Philosopher's Stone has magical powers that can restore one's full strength and even grant immortality!"
"I think that person must be Snape. Snape is planning to use the Philosopher's Stone to resurrect... resurrect... Lord Voldemort!"
Upon hearing the name Lord Voldemort, Hagrid, who was peeling a grapefruit, reacted strongly.
He immediately sat up and put his index finger to his lips: "Shush! Shush! Shush! Harry, you absolutely must not say those three words casually. He will know! Especially with his minions still out there, you will be in great danger!"
Then he put the whole grapefruit in his mouth and chewed it like an orange.
The sweet, bitter, and sour juice spread in his mouth, and Hagrid's expression relaxed: "Harry, you misunderstand Professor Snape too much. Don't worry, Professor Snape is definitely not You-Know-Who's subordinate. He's happy these days because he probably thinks he can finally become the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class professor, right? Unfortunately, Dumbledore won't let him be the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class professor; he'll be happy for nothing in the end."
"As for the Philosopher's Stone, Hogwarts has Dumbledore, who defeated two generations of Dark Lord, the greatest wizard of this century. With him here, no scoundrel would dare to come to Hogwarts to steal the Philosopher's Stone. Moreover, the Philosopher's Stone is protected by spells set by other professors, so it's foolproof."
Then Hagrid half-turned and lay back down: "I remember you have exams tomorrow, right? Are you sure you don't want to go back and review your lessons to get good grades tomorrow?"
Looking at Hagrid's nonchalant expression, Harry was furious. It seemed that only he cared whether Snape would get the Philosopher's Stone, while the professors didn't care at all.
"But even lions nap sometimes, Hagrid, don't you understand? Once Snape gets the Philosopher's Stone, Lord Voldemort will return! Have you forgotten when he dominated the world? If he succeeds, Hogwarts will cease to exist. He'll raze the school to the ground or turn it into a school dedicated to teaching Dark Arts! He won't care about final exams!"
Harry's voice was very loud, and the noise attracted Madam Pomfrey, who came to shoo them away.
"Quiet! Quiet! Quiet! Harry, no loud talking in front of the patient here. He needs rest!"
Harry still wanted to persuade Hagrid, but Madam Pomfrey "escorted" him out of the hospital wing.
Leaving Harry alone outside the hospital wing, fuming.
