“What is this gentleman's name?”
Tony looked at Deadpool, who had two double swords on his back and was wearing a red and black tight suit, and asked Chen Yu.
Although Deadpool seemed a bit eccentric, Tony was very welcoming of him coming to rescue civilians.
Hearing Tony Stark ask his name, Deadpool immediately struck a pose.
Deadpool first put his hands on his hips and said, “Since you asked so sincerely.”
Then, with a rose he got from who-knows-where in his mouth, he added, “I will answer with great compassion.”
Kneeling on his left knee and throwing his right arm back, he declared, “To prevent the world from being destroyed by adults, to protect the peace of children.”
Kneeling on his right knee and throwing his left arm back, he continued, “The crimson comedian, the regenerated corrupt one.”
Standing up with both hands raised high, he proclaimed, “The evil that embodies love and truth, the cute and charming villain,”
Then, crossing his arms, he announced, “Deadpool!”
“Little Bitch!”
“I am a mercenary who travels through battlefields.”
“Commissions, lots of commissions are waiting for me.”
“That’s how it is ~ Meow!”
At the end of his speech, Deadpool even added a cute “Meow.”
Hearing Deadpool's self-introduction and seeing his split-personality-like actions, Tony withdrew his hand, which he had originally intended to use for a handshake, pointed to his head, and asked Chen Yu, “Is there something wrong with this guy's head too?”
Chen Yu shrugged, not refuting Tony’s words: “His brain was damaged by the X-experiment, and his current behavior is already quite normal.”
For Deadpool, an abnormal brain is perfectly normal.
After introducing himself, Deadpool acted like a familiar acquaintance, not minding Tony looking at him as if he were an idiot. He sized up the Iron Man Armor on Tony: “Cool toy, how much does it cost? Can I get a set too, so I can become Flying Little Bitch!”
“Sorry, this is not for sale.”
Tony answered Deadpool's question, then turned to look at the children Deadpool had placed on the ground: “jarvis, scan their life signs and check their injuries.”
“Yes, sir.”
As the Iron Man Armor emitted a green light that scanned the two children's bodies, Tony also received approximate data on their physical condition.
“Sir, scan complete.”
“Their life signs are stable with no obvious external injuries, but they have rapid breathing, accelerated heart rates, elevated blood pressure, and slight body tremors. This is a temporary coma caused by fright. It is recommended to move them to a safe environment for recovery and to avoid them being startled again.”
Seeing the two unconscious children covered in blood, and hearing jarvis say their life signs were stable, Tony breathed a sigh of relief.
“Then what’s with the blood on them?”
Tony asked jarvis with some doubt.
“Detected that their blood type does not match the blood type on their clothes. It is external blood that has stained their clothing.”
“Actually, that's my blood,” Deadpool explained, covering the back of his head sheepishly, “I had just found these two kids in the stairwell when the wall went ‘BOMM’ and a huge hole exploded, causing me to bleed a lot, directly drenching these two kids and scaring them unconscious. I feel really bad about it…”
Tony ignored Deadpool's words. He first used radio communication to inform the rescue team that there were two unconscious children who needed to be moved. Then, he notified his assistant, Pepper, of the situation and asked her to quickly organize personnel for rescue.
He then flew back into the air, activating his life-detection radar to check for survivors in the surrounding street debris.
“Now is not the time for small talk, don’t just stand there. Chen Yu, your armor still has radar scanning capabilities. We need to save as many as we can now!”
Following Tony's words, Chen Yu quickly had jarvis activate his armor's radar scanning function.
Information appeared on Chen Yu's faceplate, and various data began to analyze the building rubble in front of him.
Seeing several frames outlined on the display screen, the system indicated possible signs of life there.
Chen Yu instantly arrived in front of a half-collapsed residential building. jarvis continuously prompted that there were still signs of life under the rubble.
Chen Yu quickly used a Floating Charm to clear the bricks, tiles, and debris, opening an entrance to the interior, and letting Deadpool go down to rescue people.
Deadpool jumped in without a word. A moment later, he climbed out carrying a woman with a twisted arm. After gently placing her on the ground, he said to Chen Yu, “It was a family of three inside, but only she survived. The others couldn't be saved.”
Looking at the woman's vacant eyes, completely oblivious to her twisted arm, Chen Yu realized how absurd this sudden battle was for ordinary people.
For these civilians, the sudden appearance of monsters not only put them in constant danger of losing their lives but also caused them to lose loved ones, family, homes, and property, forcing them to become displaced.
Their future lives might be altered by this war, becoming unfortunate and spiraling into an abyss.
Although their property losses could be compensated by the military, their deceased loved ones were gone forever.
Moreover, even if they wanted to seek compensation, given the military's size and attitude, the difficulty for an individual to obtain compensation was no less than reaching for the sky.
Soldiers, Chen Yu, Tony, and Deadpool were constantly moving survivors from the rubble to safer streets, exceptionally busy.
Until external support arrived, many ambulances and rescue personnel, sirens blaring, swarmed towards the ruined streets. Hospital nurses in white coats continuously carried injured and unconscious victims onto stretchers, sending them to the hospital for treatment.
As more and more innocent civilians were sent to the hospital from the stairwells, Tony sat on the rubble, looking at the almost completely ruined street, and cursed again: “Damn General Ross, damn the military, they should go to hell!”
Chen Yu pulled two cans of beer from his backpack, tossed them to Tony and Deadpool, and then took out a bottle of butterbeer to reward himself.
“Thanks.”
Tony opened the can and chugged the entire beer.
Deadpool, after finishing his beer, chose to kick the empty can away.
Seeing the empty can fly in an arc and smash into a scrapped, deformed car with no windows, Deadpool immediately let out an excited yell.
“Yes, good shot, perfect score!”
Seeing Deadpool still so energetic, Tony again asked Chen Yu, “Who was this guy in the tight suit again? Deadpool? Little Bitch? These all sound like nicknames, right? How did you two meet?”
For Tony, aside from men who left a deep impression and he needed to remember specifically, he truly forgot most people as soon as he turned his head.
“We just met today. He is Wade Winston Wilson, formerly a mercenary, the type who works for whoever pays him. He has flexible moral boundaries and professional ethics. He is one of the Sword Masters who came for an interview today. Hmm... he's very good at butt-butt swordsmanship.”
Chen Yu introduced Deadpool to Tony again.
“Mercenary? Sword Master? Butt-butt swordsmanship? What is all this?”
Tony's thoughts were a bit jumbled by Chen Yu's words. He couldn't understand what kind of swordsmanship could be called butt-butt swordsmanship, and hearing Chen Yu say this unreliable guy was also a Sword Master, were Sword Masters all this unreliable now?
Seeing Tony look at him again, Deadpool quickly rubbed his hands and spoke to Tony again: “Boss Tony Stark, I know you. You can call me Deadpool or Little Bitch, either is fine. This is my business card, I'll do anything for money.”
Tony took the business card Deadpool handed him.
“Cruder, longer-lasting, bigger brand, harder.”
“No bad reviews since my debut, 100% positive reviews.”
“Your friendly neighborhood, Little Bitch (crossed out) Scarlet Mercenary, at your service.”
Tony saw that the postcard in his hand depicted Deadpool with his arms open, as if introducing himself.
The words 'Cruder, Longer, Bigger, Harder' at the top were bolded in large red font, while 'Bitch, Lasting, Brand, Net' were displayed in smaller font.
At first glance, it just said 'Cruder, Longer, Bigger, Harder.'
The back also had a picture of Deadpool lying on the floor, showing off his seductive body.
If he hadn't been reading the text on the postcard while having jarvis search for information about Wade Winston Wilson, Tony might have thought he had received one of those colored cards from certain hotels.
Tony flicked the postcard Deadpool handed him away, then said to Chen Yu, “Chen Yu, you just said you banished them to the Mirror Dimension. Can we go in and find them? After all, Banner is a highly intelligent talent with seven doctorates, and such talents are rare.”
Chen Yu mimicked Deadpool, trying to toss his empty butterbeer bottle into the scrapped car.
His aim was off, and he missed, so he shifted his attention and said to Tony, “If we bring Banner out like this, are you sure the military won't have any objections?”
“Don't worry, most people don't know about Banner and Hulk. Currently, General Thaddeus Ross has the most information,” Tony said. “And I just reached an agreement with him in our communication. He has already made many enemies and offended many colleagues in his plan to mass-produce super soldiers, plus the mess he created today. He can't hold his position by himself; many eyes are watching him closely. If no one helps him, early retirement would be a good outcome...”
Thinking of General Ross, who, despite his resentment, still left, Chen Yu suddenly understood: “So he had no choice but to cooperate with you and abandon the pursuit of Hulk?”
“No, it's abandoning the pursuit of Banner. After all, the actions of Hulk and the other big guy were witnessed by all the survivors in the entire block. It would take a lot of time to whitewash Hulk.”
Chen Yu looked up at Tony Stark. No wonder General Ross became Secretary of State a few years later when Captain America 3 came out; it turned out that you, the seemingly upright Tony, were supporting him from behind.
You're a businessman, not focusing on business, but getting involved in politics!
Chen Yu looked at Tony with great displeasure: “Dirty political deals...”
Tony, however, shook his head: “Politics is sometimes like this. Honestly, I don't really like it, but I have no choice... After all, by forcibly shutting down Stark Industries' weapons division, I've already offended many high-ranking military officials. Now that Obadiah is out of the picture, the pressure of internal group affairs basically falls on Pepper alone. From the perspective of group interests, the group really needs a general with a handle to stand by us. This can both ease military relations and enhance Stark Industries' influence, making things easier for Pepper.”
“Don't worry, Stark Industries will fund the reconstruction of the entire block destroyed by Hulk and the other monster. Stark Industries will also bear all subsequent medical treatment for all injured personnel. For everyone who unfortunately died in this war, I will also give them a generous bonus. Although I know these cannot bring back the lives lost in this accident, it is a form of compensation.”
“Capital comes into the world, dripping with blood and dirty things from head to foot, indeed. Another dirty political deal, but fortunately, I'm used to it. Boss, since General 'Luosifen' has become one of us, it seems we won't be able to sneak into his residence tonight and slit his throat.”
Deadpool whistled, seemingly unconcerned by the deal between Tony and General Ross.
Just as Deadpool said in his self-introduction, as long as the money was good, Deadpool didn't care who he worked for.
Moreover, Tony also knew how to handle the aftermath and resettle the affected people. Compared to other big capitalists, Tony was already quite good in Deadpool's eyes.
Chen Yu did not respond to Deadpool's teasing, picking up his wand and directly opening the Mirror Dimension.
Space began to fold, and Chen Yu was the first to pass through the entrance of the Mirror Dimension he had opened.
Tony and Deadpool followed closely behind.
Entering the Mirror Dimension, the first thing that caught their eyes was Abomination, who seemed motionless, lying on the ground without stirring.
At this moment, Abomination seemed to be unconscious, his eyes tightly closed, his chest no longer rising and falling, making no sound at all, as if dead.
Chen Yu looked left and right but did not find Hulk.
Could Hulk have escaped this dimension?
Chen Yu had no idea how large this Mirror Dimension world was.
According to Kamar-Taj records, the Mirror Dimension has existed since ancient times.
He had only opened the entrance to the Mirror Dimension and sent them in.
If Hulk, after fighting Banner, wandered around this Mirror Dimension and got lost, finding him would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
However, it was fortunate that Hulk, or rather, Dr. Banner, had not wandered off.
He was merely blocked by Abomination's massive body. When Chen Yu approached Abomination, he found that Dr. Banner had already reverted from his Hulk state and was sitting alone on the ground, lost in thought, staring blankly at the reflected scene of the real world outside the Mirror Dimension, not knowing what he was thinking.
