Traveling Through The Heavens, I Am The Avada Sword Master

Chapter 45: Acromantula skewers

Professor McGonagall felt for the first time how crowded the common room was.

The tables and chairs in the common room had been moved aside, making a large space for the Little Wizards to stand.

Chen Yu stood on the only long table, singing to his heart's content.

His enchanting singing, accompanied by the rhythm of the music, plunged all of Gryffindor into a joyful atmosphere.

After the song finished.

Professor McGonagall's ears still echoed with the magical sounds of "niángzi" and "ah ha."

Watching Chen Yu, who was standing on the table, begin to announce that it was commercial break and once again introduce his lamb skewers.

Professor McGonagall couldn't help but interrupt Chen Yu's speech.

The surrounding Gryffindor Little Wizards immediately recognized their Head of House and quickly made a large space for Professor McGonagall to pass, looking terrified.

Professor McGonagall strode quickly to Chen Yu and told him to get down from the table.

Chen Yu was very surprised to see that the person who came was Professor McGonagall.

After all, professors rarely came to the common room, and he didn't expect to be caught by Professor McGonagall on the first day of his grand opening.

His advertising pitch stopped, and he secretly turned off the music on his phone, which had a "Sonorus" spell cast on it, in his pocket.

He jumped down from the table and stood honestly in front of Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall looked at Chen Yu with a serious expression, staring intently, and after a long while, she asked, "Mr. Chen Yu, can you tell me what you are doing?"

He didn't expect his entrepreneurial venture to fail halfway through.

Chen Yu sighed deeply, gathered his spirits, and replied, "I'm working part-time and starting a business, Professor."

"Working part-time?" Professor McGonagall frowned, "The school has always provided grants to students in your situation; you don't need to work part-time at school."

"It's like this, Professor, have you heard the story 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'? The grants provided by the school can indeed temporarily relieve my worries about living expenses, but that money will eventually need to be repaid after I graduate. If I don't learn a skill while studying, how can I make up for the amount of the grant the school gave me? 700 Galleons is not a small sum."

Although Professor McGonagall felt that Chen Yu had a point, she was still a bit angry about the entire Gryffindor common room being made a mess.

Professor McGonagall said to Chen Yu with a serious face, "The common room is a place for everyone to rest, and making it messy is not good. I also understand your difficulties, but disturbing so many people resting in the common room is always wrong."

George Weasley held the skewers in both hands, his face greasy from eating, and said to Professor McGonagall while eating, "No disturbance, no disturbance, Professor. If you don't believe me, look, everyone is very happy, it's like a feast, isn't it, Mr. Fred!"

Fred Weasley put one greasy hand on his brother's shoulder and replied, also eating skewers, "George is right, it would be even better if we had some butterbeer!"

Seeing the Weasley Brothers stand up to contradict her, Professor McGonagall immediately remembered Filch's complaints and turned her stern gaze to them.

"Underage drinking is prohibited! George, Fred, the caretaker Filch has complained to me multiple times that you two are secretly selling 'Dungbombs' to other students, and these 'Dungbombs' have caused Filch a lot of trouble. How many times have I told you, strictly no selling 'Dungbombs' to other students!"

Hearing that their 'Dungbombs' had caused Filch a lot of trouble, the brothers immediately cheered, "Oh! That's great!"

After cheering, seeing Professor McGonagall's 'furious' glare, they immediately cowered back: "Actually, it's not that great... Maybe those 'Dungbombs' were secretly picked up by students?"

Professor McGonagall felt a headache coming on when she saw these two problem students.

Even Chen Yu's act of selling skewers seemed much better.

At least what Chen Yu sold didn't cause as much headache as what the Weasley Brothers sold.

Professor McGonagall held her forehead and said helplessly, "One of you go call Percy over, just tell him I need to speak with him..."

Before Professor McGonagall could finish, Percy had already arrived in front of her. Aside from a bit of grease on the corners of his mouth, he didn't look as greasy as the other Little Wizards.

Seeing Percy still looking like a good student, Professor McGonagall felt much more relieved.

"Later, you go notify all Gryffindor students that the Forbidden Forest is not peaceful lately, and Little Wizards are strictly forbidden from entering the Forbidden Forest to explore on their own."

"Understood, Professor McGonagall."

Percy replied seriously.

Chen Yu's heart, however, skipped a beat.

Could it be that the professors found out about him killing the Acromantula in the Forbidden Forest?

Chen Yu secretly glanced at the high-end meat skewers, priced at 1 Galleon each.

Those were skewers made from the meat on the Acromantula's legs and abdomen. After mincing, who could tell what animal the meat on the skewer was from.

He had minced a portion of the meat taken from the Acromantula and had it confirmed by the House-elf in the kitchen. Even the House-elf couldn't identify what creature the meat was from, only confirming it was non-toxic after a slight taste.

The Acromantula was, after all, a magical creature. Most of its magic would dissipate after death, but the meat still contained a small amount of magic.

For Little Wizards, food containing other magic was not easy to digest and not suitable for them to eat too much.

Chen Yu skewered the Acromantula meat on thicker wooden skewers, separating them from the regular lamb skewers.

Since it was meat from a Class XXXXX magical creature, the Acromantula, and these magical creature skewers indeed provided much more energy than ordinary creatures, it was reasonable to price them higher.

It was a pity that these Little Wizards didn't recognize good quality; he had tried for so long, and only two high-end meat skewers had sold, while a pile of lamb skewers had sold out.

Chen Yu's small actions were not noticed by Professor McGonagall. After giving instructions to Percy, she warned Chen Yu again: "I won't ask this time, but you cannot sell skewers in the common room, affecting the rest of other Little Wizards. This is a school rule!"

Chen Yu reacted quickly; since he wasn't allowed to sell skewers in the common room, he would make a small cart and sell them outside the common room.

Chen Yu readily agreed, promising not to make such a mistake again.

"Alright, remember to clean up the common room later, and remember to turn off the lights and go to bed before curfew!"

Seeing Chen Yu agree so readily, Professor McGonagall didn't make things difficult for him. Her purpose for coming to the Gryffindor common room had been achieved, and she should go to the Quidditch pitch to see how Harry's training was going.

With that, Professor McGonagall prepared to leave, giving the common room space back to the Gryffindor Little Wizards.

Seeing Professor McGonagall about to leave, Chen Yu quickly winked at Ron.

Seeing Ron holding skewers with a confused look, Chen Yu quickly snatched a freshly grilled lamb skewer from Ron's hand and shoved it into Professor McGonagall's hand.

Chen Yu wouldn't dare let Professor McGonagall try the high-end meat skewers; if she tasted something off, he would be exposed.

"Professor McGonagall, please take your time, you've worked so hard. Please try this, it's truly an authentic oriental lamb skewer, it would be a shame not to try it."

Professor McGonagall was also a bit stunned when Chen Yu shoved it into her hand.

It was the first time she had seen a student give her something like this, and for a moment, she didn't know whether to return it or accept it.

Seeing the hesitant expression on Professor McGonagall's face, Chen Yu quickly pressed on: "Professor, these lamb skewers are a small token of my appreciation. I've always been grateful that you brought me to Hogwarts and into the world of magic. If you think it's not enough, you can take more, and let the other professors taste my cooking too!"

As he spoke, he prepared to give Professor McGonagall another handful of lamb skewers.

Seeing Chen Yu's enthusiasm, Professor McGonagall felt a bit embarrassed. She accepted the skewers Chen Yu offered again and then hurried away.

Once outside the common room, the clamor was blocked by the thick walls, and Professor McGonagall finally calmed down.

Looking at the lamb skewers in her hand, she smiled wryly, "I was unknowingly led by the rhythm. Are today's Little Wizards all so 'terrifying'?"

After saying that, she sniffed the aroma emanating from the lamb skewers.

Should she try it?

It was, after all, a gift from her student, a small token of his regard.

Having reassured herself, Professor McGonagall picked up a skewer and took a small bite.

Her brisk strides immediately stopped, and the pupils in her eyes instantly turned vertical.

Professor McGonagall narrowed her eyes, and her mood became pleasant.

"Delicious!"
