Traveling Through The Heavens, I Am The Avada Sword Master

Chapter 41: Nimbus 2000

It was Tuesday noon in the Great Hall of Hogwarts Castle.

It had been three days since he got the book “Legilimency - Brain Peeking and Counter Curse”.

He had been reading it for three days straight, but he still hadn’t fully grasped the book.

He even felt like he hadn’t understood much of it at all.

With the system’s photo function, Chen Yu had already taken pictures of the book’s contents and stored them in his brain in photo form.

But memorizing doesn’t mean understanding, it’s like self-studying classical Chinese.

Memorizing classical Chinese from a textbook doesn’t mean one can translate its content into understandable vernacular.

Although the number of pages in “Legilimency - Brain Peeking and Counter Curse” wasn’t many.

Chen Yu couldn’t understand many of the magic terms within it.

It was like the classical Chinese phrase “The banks are jagged and uneven.,Unknown source” (The banks are jagged and uneven, their source unknown).

One couldn’t possibly translate it into “There were two dogs fighting on the shore, and I don’t know why.”

Or translate “Back to the countryside, I'm like a man who has lost his temper” into something as ridiculous as “When I returned to my hometown, I was like a rotten person.”

At this point, it would be best to ask a professor with deep magical knowledge and wisdom.

Whether it was Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, Snape, or Professor Flitwick, any of them would do.

But did Chen Yu dare?

He didn’t dare.

He couldn’t explain where he got such profound knowledge.

It would be like a primary school student taking a calculus problem to their teacher for an answer.

The teacher would definitely be interested in this Little Wizards.

To be asking about calculus at such a young age, it’s truly terrifying.

If they didn’t thoroughly investigate to see if he was a true genius, they wouldn’t even feel like a qualified teacher.

“Hey, Chen Yu, what are you looking so worried about? Want to play some Gobstones?”

Ron held up the pieces in his hand and asked Chen Yu.

The way to play Gobstones was taught to Ron and Harry by Chen Yu.

Both the pieces and the board were transformed by Chen Yu using Transfiguration.

Turning stones of similar size into Gobstones pieces was already a piece of cake for Chen Yu now.

The only thing was that the transformed pieces weren’t permanent; they would only last about a day before reverting to their original state.

Ron, who loved new things, quickly fell in love with Gobstones and often dragged Harry to play.

However, every time they played, they needed Chen Yu’s help to transform the stones into pieces.

Ron hadn’t succeeded even once in turning a matchstick into a silver needle, though Harry had.

But he couldn’t turn so many stones into pieces.

Chen Yu glanced at Ron, shaking his head to decline Ron’s suggestion.

“I’m thinking about some spell knowledge points; some of the phrases are so obscure and difficult to understand.”

As soon as Ron heard Chen Yu mention spell-related knowledge, he immediately lost interest and started pulling Harry to play Gobstones.

Hermione still didn’t want to talk to Harry and Ron; she sat far away from them, as if that could draw a boundary line.

It was only when Chen Yu pulled Hermione that she reluctantly came and sat down.

Chen Yu didn’t want his butterfly effect to turn the trio of Harry, Hermione, and Ron into a duo; that wouldn’t be fun.

Chen Yu sometimes had to admit that without the system’s help, he couldn’t compare to Hermione at all.

Hermione was a magical genius born into a Muggle family; she learned many simple spells instantly.

Hermione loved to read, unlike Chen Yu, who only liked to read spell-related books.

Hermione preferred to read books about magical history and folklore, which helped her understand the magical world more quickly.

Recently, Chen Yu had asked Hermione about some magical terms he didn’t understand, and surprisingly, Hermione could sometimes answer them.

Although she couldn’t answer many, she could cite sources and explain the meaning and origin of the terms to Chen Yu, which was enough to make Chen Yu look at her in a new light.

This was enough to reflect how terrifyingly fast her understanding of the magical world’s knowledge was.

Chen Yu even suspected that Hermione might be constantly “devouring” books whenever she had free time.

Otherwise, her terrifying knowledge reserve couldn’t be explained.

“Harry, don’t you think it’s strange that Malfoy hasn’t been bothering us lately?”

Ron asked Harry while playing Gobstones.

Harry held a piece, thought for a moment, and casually said, “I’ve seen him being stopped and questioned by other Slytherin students a lot lately, so he probably doesn’t have time to bother us.”

Chen Yu and Hermione exchanged a knowing glance, both not telling Harry and Ron the real reason.

Chen Yu felt that taking “money” from someone meant helping them get rid of trouble; since he had taken the spell books Malfoy gave him, he should keep this matter to himself.

Hermione simply didn’t want to talk to Harry and Ron right now; if Chen Yu hadn’t dragged her over to sit down, Hermione would still want to stay away from those two reckless guys.

The owls squeezed into the Great Hall as usual.

Chen Yu looked up and saw six owls carrying a long, slender package flying towards him.

Judging by the outer contour of the package, it looked like a flying broom.

Just then, those owls circled down and landed right in front of Harry.

Harry’s eyes showed surprise; he didn’t expect anyone to send him a gift.

He was about to tear open the package to see what was inside. Then another owl dropped a letter on the package.

Harry chose to tear open the letter first to read its contents.

After finishing the letter, Harry excitedly touched the package and then handed the letter to Ron.

Ron looked at the letter and was very envious: “It’s a Nimbus 2000! I’ve never even touched such a good flying broom…”

“Aren’t you going to tear it open and look?” Chen Yu hadn’t read the letter yet and saw that Harry had only torn a small opening in the package and then stopped, which made him feel like his OCD was acting up.

With deliveries, either you don’t tear open the package and leave it there, or you tear it open completely. What’s the deal with tearing it halfway and then stopping?

Harry excitedly explained, “It’s a Nimbus 2000 from Professor McGonagall, but she doesn’t want anyone else to know, so she told me not to open the package in public. She also told me to go to the Quidditch Pitch at seven tonight to find Wood; she said it’s my first practical class!”

After Ron finished reading the letter, he handed it to Chen Yu.

Hermione also craned her neck to look at the letter in Chen Yu’s hand, clearly interested.

“Harry, weren’t you participating in Quidditch training before? How is today your first practical class?”

“Before, they were all theoretical classes; practical classes start today.”

“Oh, I see…”

Chen Yu scratched his head, looking at the package that was clearly a flying broom, somewhat unclear about Professor McGonagall’s intentions.

It wasn’t as if by not letting Harry open the package, people wouldn’t know what was inside Harry’s package.

The problem was this shape; any normal Little Wizards could guess that a flying broom was wrapped inside.

It was like buying a human doll and asking the seller for discreet shipping, but the buyer wrapped the package with tape until it looked like a corpse.

What’s the difference between opening it and not opening it? It’s hard not to notice.

Perhaps the item wasn’t the point; the point was the sender.

Did Professor McGonagall not want other Little Wizards to know the package was from her?

Could this Nimbus 2000 have been bought by Professor McGonagall by misappropriating the Gryffindor Quidditch team’s budget?

Or, as written in the letter, was it simply that she didn’t want other team members to know she gave Harry a Nimbus 2000, to avoid other team members wanting one too?

Chen Yu speculated while looking at the flying broom in Harry’s hand.
