Apocalypse Beginning: I’M Pregnant With The Blackened Male Lead’S Child

Chapter 72: Empty the scorpion's nest

Lu Shiyan listened for a moment, discerning the direction and number of people.

"Follow me." Without hesitation, he led Su Wan quickly around to the other side of the warehouse roof.

This area was relatively secluded, with a narrow alley below, filled with discarded boxes and junk.

Lu Shiyan's sharp gaze swept across the roof, quickly locking onto an inconspicuous ventilation shaft covered by a rusty iron plate.

He stepped forward, grabbing the edge of the iron plate with one hand, his arm muscles slightly bulging, and faint electric sparks flickering at his fingertips.

With a soft tearing sound, the rivets holding the iron plate in place snapped, and he easily lifted it open, revealing a square hole just large enough for one person to pass through.

A unique scent of the warehouse, mixed with oil and metal, wafted out.

"You first," Lu Shiyan said to Su Wan in a low voice, turning his head.

She nodded vigorously, without any unnecessary words, and slid into the opening.

Behind her, Lu Shiyan vigilantly watched the movements around them, especially the increasingly close footsteps. A team of searching enemies had already rounded to the east side of the warehouse, their flashlight beams constantly sweeping, and they would soon discover the anomaly here.

The moment Su Wan's feet touched the ground, she gasped slightly, astonished by the sight before her.

This was a colossal space, at least ten meters high, with rows of heavy metal shelves neatly arranged, densely packed with all kinds of weapons!

From common assault rifles, pistols, and sniper rifles, to heavy machine guns, rocket launchers, and even several crates of anti-material sniper rifles and grenade launchers!

A mountain of ammunition boxes was piled in the corner, with every caliber and model imaginable.

The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and cold metal, making one's blood surge.

"My goodness!" Su Wan couldn't help but exclaim, "Is this Scorpion guy trying to start a rebellion?"

This was no secret stronghold; it was clearly a small arsenal! The armaments in the South District factory were only a fifth of what was here.

Lu Shiyan landed silently behind her, his gaze sweeping over the dazzling array of armaments, his eyes flickering. Lei Laohu's intelligence only stated that this was a weapon stronghold, but not that its scale was so astonishing. It seemed the old fox had held back some information.

"Quickly," Lu Shiyan's voice pulled Su Wan back from her shock. "There are at least twenty or thirty people outside, and they'll find this place soon."

Su Wan snapped back to attention, a greedy glint in her eyes. "Understood!"

She rubbed her hands excitedly, "This is a huge haul!" Before her words even finished, she waved her hand, and several crates of pistols and ammunition nearby vanished into thin air!

Fine beads of sweat broke out on Su Wan's forehead, and her face turned slightly pale. Transferring so much at once was a considerable drain on her mental energy.

But she just gritted her teeth and didn't stop, continuing to focus on the next batch of weapons. Assault rifles, submachine guns, magazines… crates and crates disappeared.

Lu Shiyan didn't rush her. He walked to the warehouse's only entrance—a heavy iron door—and pressed his ear against it, listening carefully to the sounds outside.

Outside the iron door, the footsteps were very clear, and someone was loudly giving commands; it sounded like a large number of people.

"Captain! Nothing here!"

"Useless! Search carefully! Don't let a single fly escape!"

Lu Shiyan frowned slightly. It seemed Scorpion's subordinates were well-trained and searching systematically.

"Bang! Bang bang!" Several heavy thuds against the door rang out, and the iron door vibrated with a grating sound.

Su Wan's movements paused, and the ammunition box she was about to collect nearly dropped to the ground.

"Keep going!" Lu Shiyan said without turning his head, red flames flickering in his palm, reflecting on the cold iron door. "If they dare to break in, they'll be burned to charcoal!"

Su Wan composed herself and once again dedicated all her focus to the "transportation" endeavor. Rows of shelves visibly emptied at a rapid pace.

Those once-intimidating killing tools now, before her, were as docile as crops waiting to be harvested, all unceremoniously accepted by her.

There were simply too many weapons in the warehouse. Heavy machine guns, collect! Rocket launchers, absolutely must collect! Those anti-material sniper rifles that looked fierce, naturally, couldn't be missed either!

Su Wan's eyes began to glow. After this trip, her spatial armory could directly upgrade into a military supply company!

Lu Shiyan remained guarding the door. The banging and shouting outside grew louder, occasionally interspersed with gunshots, seemingly guards in other directions firing wildly as a warning.

"Damn it, why is this door so sturdy!"

"Split up and search! See if there are any other entrances!"

"Boss Scorpion said if anything inside is lost, we'll all lose our heads!"

The enemies' voices came through the iron door intermittently, anxious and furious.

A cold, sharp curve appeared at Lu Shiyan's lips. Scorpion? Soon he would know what true loss felt like.

Time passed minute by minute. Su Wan's face grew paler, and her breathing became somewhat heavy. Nearly seventy percent of the weapons in the warehouse had already been moved into her space.

Although the remaining items were also good, her mental energy was indeed approaching its limit.

"Lu Shiyan, I'm almost at my limit," Su Wan's voice was weak, but more than that, it was excited. "But the haul is too big! This one job is worth half a year of my effort!"

Lu Shiyan turned around, seeing her swaying, and frowned slightly: "Enough! Prepare to withdraw!"

"Click!"

Both looked in the direction of the sound simultaneously!

High up at the other end of the warehouse, behind some clutter, a small figure poked out his head, holding a short crossbow, his eyes filled with terror!

A hidden sentry!

Just as the person was about to open his mouth to warn, a green shadow shot out from Lu Shiyan's fingertips, accurately wrapping around his neck, and twisted hard!

"Crack!"

The sound of bone breaking was almost imperceptible. The sentry's body went limp, and his short crossbow fell to the ground.

Lu Shiyan was expressionless: "Through the ventilation shaft!"

Returning the way they came was the safest option for now.

Su Wan took a breath and nodded. She walked over to Lu Shiyan, looked at him, and softly said, "Xiao Han is still outside."

Although Xiao Han's mouth was a bit crude, they had been through life and death together on this journey.

Lu Shiyan's eyes deepened slightly. Of course, he hadn't forgotten Xiao Han.

"He has his mission, and we have ours," Lu Shiyan's tone was devoid of emotion. "Only by ensuring our own safe withdrawal can we have the capacity to consider others."

Although these words were cold, Su Wan understood they were true. They were barely able to protect themselves now; how could they talk about rescuing others?

"Moreover," Lu Shiyan paused, glancing at the warehouse, which Su Wan had already emptied by more than half, "we've already given Scorpion a huge 'surprise,' and the chaos outside might also create an opportunity for him."

Su Wan softly hummed in agreement and said no more.

Lu Shiyan walked to the bottom of the ventilation shaft and looked up. "I'll go up first, then pull you."

He bent his legs slightly and pushed off forcefully, his body agilely climbing the protrusions on the wall, and in a few movements, he was back on the roof.

Outside, the shouts and gunshots were more intense than before, and flashes of fire flickered wildly in the night sky; the entire factory had completely turned into a battlefield.

Lu Shiyan leaned down and extended his hand to Su Wan below.

Su Wan gave him her hand, and with his strength, she also successfully climbed up.

Just as she stood firm, a shrill scream came from not far away, accompanied by the whistling of a Wind Blade cutting through the air!

It was Xiao Han!

The two exchanged glances, both seeing seriousness in each other's eyes.

"He's in trouble," Su Wan said, somewhat anxious.

Lu Shiyan listened intently. Besides the fierce fighting coming from Xiao Han's direction, more people were surrounding the roof of this warehouse.

Their actions of dealing with Black Faced Wolf and infiltrating the warehouse had, after all, attracted a large number of enemies.
